Wizz Air to offer Starlink in-flight internet from 2027

Wizz Air plans to introduce Starlink satellite internet across its fleet from 2027, marking one of the first large-scale adoptions of SpaceX’s in-flight connectivity system by a European low-cost carrier.

The airline said the service will allow passengers to use high-speed internet during flights, reflecting growing demand for connectivity in the air as travellers increasingly expect to remain online throughout their journey.

Starlink, operated by Elon Musk’s SpaceX, uses low-Earth-orbit satellites designed to provide faster speeds and lower latency than traditional satellite internet systems.

The move comes as airlines around the world look to improve the passenger experience and differentiate their services beyond ticket pricing. For Wizz Air, the partnership may also strengthen its position in Europe’s competitive low-cost aviation market.
