Heidelberg Materials Australia has completed the acquisition of the Construction Materials business of Maas Group Holdings, an Australian Securities Exchange-listed diversified industrial group.

The acquired business operates across New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria, ACT and employs more than 1,000 people. It includes 43 quarries with combined reserves of more than 350 million tonnes, 22 ready-mixed concrete plants, five asphalt operations, a recycling site and adjacent activities.

The acquisition complements Heidelberg Materials’ existing footprint and expands its ability to provide high-quality aggregates, ready-mixed concrete, asphalt and recycled construction materials to customers across Eastern Australia.

Phil Schacht, Chief Executive Officer of Heidelberg Materials Australia, said the completion marked an important milestone for the two businesses.

“We are pleased to welcome our new colleagues to Heidelberg Materials Australia. The business brings strong regional expertise, established customer relationships and a highly capable team that complements our existing operations.  Our immediate priority is ensuring a smooth transition while maintaining safe, reliable operations and continuing to deliver the high-quality products and services our customers expect.

The existing businesses and brands will continue to operate as they do today.

There are no planned workforce reductions associated with the acquisition, and we look forward to building on the skills, experience and local knowledge across the combined business.”

Customers, suppliers and other partners will continue working with their existing contacts, businesses and brands. There are no immediate changes to day-to-day operations, and the focus remains on maintaining service continuity and strong local relationships.

The completion reinforces Heidelberg Materials’ long-term commitment to the Australian market and strengthens its capacity to support infrastructure, residential and commercial development across Eastern Australia.
