Heidelberg Materials (HEIG.DE) beat analyst expectations for the third quarter of 2026. Revenue rose 10% year on year to €6.41 billion, while its result from current operations (RCO) increased 9% to €1.28 billion. By the time this article was published, shares had jumped 7% since the start of European trading.

CEO Dominik von Achten said the momentum that began in the second quarter picked up in the third. The company reported recovering demand, strong performance in Europe and sustained growth in North America.

The group is targeting an additional €300 million in savings, split roughly evenly between 2027 and 2028. It plans to improve operating efficiency and reshape its production network, particularly in Europe. Heidelberg reaffirmed its 2026 outlook for RCO of €3.40 billion to €3.65 billion and a return on invested capital of just over 10%.

Andrievskii Verdict

This giant still has plenty to say. Heidelberg has been laying the groundwork for a while, and its cost cuts already helped lift earnings this quarter. If it can build a supply network from Eastern Europe to the Middle East and deliver cement at a lower cost than its rivals, it could kick some serious ass.

In Washington, the donkey walloped the elephant. Democrats won control of both chambers of Congress, according to the Associated Press. That victory could work in Heidelberg’s favor if it leads to policies that lift U.S. demand for building materials.
