The hockey team of Swiss International Institute Lausanne (SIIL) opened its 2026/2027 season with the support of its new main sponsor, BENDURA BANK, a private bank based in Liechtenstein. Competing under the name SIIL-Bendura, the team participated in the 15th edition of the Tournoi des Husky on 29 August 2026.
SIIL-Bendura faced CERN’s hockey team in its opening match, which ended in a 2–0 victory for CERN. The teams were rivals on the ice, but friends and partners beyond the rink—a spirit that extended throughout the tournament.
A 1–1 draw followed in the next match. In the playoffs, SIIL-Bendura put up a determined fight against the tournament hosts, who went on to win the competition. The defeat saw SIIL-Bendura move into the consolation bracket.
The tournament’s value extended beyond the results. It gave the team an opportunity to assess new players and come together after the summer break. Players also reconnected with friends and colleagues and discussed potential projects, both in hockey and in scientific collaboration.
SIIL expressed its gratitude to BENDURA BANK for its support and trust, to the organisers for a successful start to the season, and to all participating teams for the games, conversations and friendly atmosphere.
