ANDRIEVSKII.CH: Strategic Minerals (SML.L) — Director Buys Shares Following Redmoor Developments

Strategic Minerals plc (AIM: SML) announced this morning that Executive Director Mark Burnett purchased 395,000 SML shares at 6.3p per share, investing approximately £24,885 of his own capital.

The transaction was completed on 29 September 2026 on the London Stock Exchange (XLON). Following the purchase, Burnett holds 395,000 shares in the Company.

The timing deserves attention. The director's purchase follows a series of important developments surrounding Strategic Minerals' flagship Redmoor tungsten-copper-tin project in Cornwall, including recent drilling progress and the announcement of $9.25 million of U.S. Government funding to accelerate the project through feasibility work and towards a final investment decision.

In other words, the sequence is becoming increasingly interesting:

Redmoor drilling → U.S. Government strategic funding → Executive Director buying SML shares with his own money.

The size of the director's purchase is relatively modest and should not be overstated. More important, in my view, is when the purchase was made: after the recent positive developments and at 6.3p per share, rather than before the market began to revalue Redmoor.

Andrievskii Verdict

The money is beginning to follow the story.

Government funding validates the strategic importance of the asset. Director buying demonstrates personal financial alignment with shareholders. Neither guarantees the future value of SML, but together they strengthen the investment case we have been following.

I remain positive on Strategic Minerals and Redmoor. At this stage, I see no reason to change our investment thesis.
